Christmas 2017

I was excited that Thanksgiving was early this year because that meant I would have my Christmas decorations up even longer. I haven’t had my decorations up for two years, so I really had fun opening all the boxes and sort of “rediscovering” everything. If you watched our Instagram Stories last week, you probably saw that part of that rediscovery was a dead snake on one of the boxes! Yikes😱!!! That slowed me down until Jerry T came home and got rid of the snake. I’m still freaking out over that and will probably never go into the attic ever again! I mean how does a snake get in the attic?

I may just get a little carried away with the decorating. This year we brought down 53 boxes/bags (along with the creepy snake) from the attic. It took me five days to get everything up. I’m super slow when it comes to decorating the trees. I’ll put an ornament on, look at it, analyze it, and then move it again! On the other hand, Abby can have two trees fully decorated in an hour. Our Christmas decor style is pretty traditional. Lots of jewel tones and gold. I have several Christmas pieces that my mom made many years ago. Having them out and looking at them almost makes me feel that she is still here. Boy, do we ever miss her and my dad. They always made Christmas so much fun.
