All the adults in my family agreed not to exchange Christmas presents this year. We’ve agreed to do this before, but there is always that one rule breaker who shows up with presents. This year it appeared that everyone would abide by the “no gift” rule until Christmas night when my son brought in this box and said “Here Mom, this is not really a Christmas present, it’s a New Year’s present“.
This is the kid that always follows every rule. So obviously, he really wanted to give me this gift. It wasn’t wrapped and looking at the box it appeared to be some kind of an art easel. As I was opening the box, he told me he had one and he loved it. As it turns out, he loved it so much he bought everyone in our family one of these for a New Year’s Present.
It is called a Buddha Board and the concept is simple. You draw whatever you want on the board and it literally disappears in about five minutes. Kind of like disappearing ink only with a zen like feeling. It comes with a tray that you fill with water and the tray sits on a waterproof pad. It has a slot that holds the board and a slot for the brush. After painting on the board for a while, I have to admit there is something “therapeutic” about it. Just put it on the board and watch it go away. What a great gift this was. I’m keeping it in one of my guest rooms, but it would also be awesome for an office or a game room. Something for your guests or family to have fun with (kids and adults). Also great for writing love (or hate 😡) notes to your significant other (LOL). My son uses it as a meditation aid. As the drawing disappears, the result is a blank slate for starting over fresh.
After a couple of minutes
After 3-1/2 minutes
Almost five minutes – Poof it’s gone
I’ve really had fun with this. My rule following/breaking son did good! Don’t forget to eat your black eyed peas on New Year’s Day.
Love,
The “Mama”
